Modernization Progress and Construction Updates

The transformation of Saint Nicholas Houses is moving forward with major progress both inside and outside the buildings. Nearly 400 residents toured the first model unit this spring, seeing firsthand the new finishes they selected during the community-wide vote. The excitement and feedback from these tours continue to inspire our work ahead.

On site, construction crews have been working diligently. Sidewalk sheds, fencing, and scaffolding are now in place, while lead abatement has been completed in Phase One apartments. Crews are working on façade restoration and preparing the buildings for electrification, including demolition and core drilling for the new heating and cooling units. Interior asbestos abatement is underway in apartments in Building 10.

These milestones represent meaningful progress toward creating healthier, safer, and more modern homes for every Saint Nicholas resident!
